In 1963 Fu Jen University was re-erected in Taiwan and the Faculty of Law established the Law Department. In 1974 a second class was added and the Department divided into two streams: Jurisprudence & Judicial Law. In 1979 a financial law stream was added. A Graduate School of Law was founded in 1980 offering an MA and from 1991 also a PhD. In 1997 the financial law stream became a separate Department. In 1997 the Law Department and Graduate School were combined as one, also integrating the Law Department of the Nights School. In 2001 the Department inaugurated a stream for people at work.
Since 2003 the Department has been part of the Law School and offers a regular BA, a BA in the school of continuing education, an MA, an MA for people at work and a PhD, thus making it complete.
